SHIPPING.
Due to previous troubles with ship partners in the past, shipping will need to include high build up and chemistry between our muses. I will also only ship with people that I have gotten to know, so on-the-whim shipping will be prohibited and those who inquire on it will be immediately shut down. I will only ship with muses that are ABOVE twenty-one years old, and will not show any romantic intention with muses that are now of-age. My muse is multiverse and multi-ship, but can move to singleship later if I find a ship I’m most comfortable with. NSFW / Smut will only be offered through high amounts of chemistry through muses - but is not restricted to those who are not shipped with my muse.

If I am not replying to our thread and merely doing banter on the TL, it means that I am too busy to give a thoroughly thought-out reply ; and it will take time for me to respond. what is an aswang ,
& what is a mangkukulam ?
The Aswang is a shapeshifting evil spirit. It is a combination of a vampire, a ghoul, and a mangkukulam; a witch that dabbles in dark magic. Unlike vampires, Aswangs are considered daywalkers, because they are not harmed by sunlight. However, they are weakest during the day, because they do not possess their superhuman strength.b Aswangs are similar to humans. They experience a wide range of emotions, from anger to sadness to humiliation to happiness. They can form friendships and will never cause harm to their friends and neighbors.Mangkukulams, on the other hand, is the term used to the people who practice the sorcery. They often do it for revenge, or to do evil things to people. Sorcerers or mangkukulam can be found in rural areas or provinces in the Philippines .Some mangkukulam (witches) are doing this practice to protect their families and property. They keep themselves isolated from everybody. They often avoid people in the streets on daytime. Witch can also pass their black magic to their family such as their children. They must have a strong belief to the black magic that they possess.

wip. for raya's bio.
the power of evil .

ASWANG POWERS.
INVISIBILITY.
An aswang has the ability to turn invisible at the
SHAPESHIFTING.
An aswang has the ability to shapeshift to their animal or creature of choice when it comes to hunting during morning while scouring for food, or at the dead of night. They can turn into werebats, wolves, a crow, a black cat, or even ravenous dogs; depending on what type of prey they are hunting. Before they transform, a tell-tale sound of a quiet "tiktik" will ring in the air; the louder the farther they are - and the quieter the closer they are; fooling prey into thinking they are far away.
SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH.
An aswang has superhuman strength only DURING the evening when the sun is down due to the fact they are weakest during the day. Unlike vampires, they are not harmed by sunlight.
HEIGHTENED ENDURANCE.
HEIGHTENED
OBJECT TRANSFORMATION.
Aswangs can also transform the appearance of objects. They will replace their live victims or stolen cadavers with replicas made from tree trunks or other types of plants. This doppelgänger will then return home extremely sick and die naturally to avoid suspicion.
FLIGHT.
While aswangs can transform into animals, they can also sprout a pair of bat-like wings to assist them on flying when it comes from escaping angry villagers in the night after hunting.
MANGKUKULAM ABILITIES.
KULAM.
Kulam is a type of magic that inflicts pain and suffering to those who receive the curse. One of the most darkest type of magic originating from Asuang, the former God of Black Magic himself, Kulam allows the witch or sorcerer to curse a being into painful scenarios, even death. Kulam uses the components of the most harmful natural sources of the earth; including carnivorous beetles, metal, coal, boiling water, and pins - directly sending it to the body of the victim through an effigy connected with either a hair or nail clipping. It allows the witch to make the victim do their bidding.
HUKLUBAN.
Hukuluban is a type of magic that can only be used by those with black magic already in their veins - passed hereditarily through centuries of hard belief. Without the use of effigies and materials, Hacluban can kill by a simple raise or salute of an arm. But, this magic can be used to not only just kill, but heal; with the usage of charms. The downside of this magic is that it is quick to drain a user's life source; so the usage of Hukluban must be used at a minimum to ensure a longer life span. This type of magic is primarily used when one is close to their death and has final grievances to those they hate.
GAYUMA.
Gayuma is a type of magic that is used in creation of charms from herms, stones, and wood that would be infuse a heart with love. Primarily known as love spells, Gayuma is used to force or enhance the love of one to another - which can be used for good or bad. It can also be used to creation a stronger trust level, or attraction.
IKATLONG MATA.
Ikatlong mata is primarily used to see the spirtual world beyond the land of the living. It allows the user to see the supernatural aspect of the living world; from seeing aswangs to tikbalangs - or even simple lost ghosts wandering the plane of the living. It allows the user to see the spiritual level of a person; whether their energy is dark, or light.
PAGBUHAY NG PATAY.
Pagbuhay ng patay is the ability to raise the dead - but not physically. When raising the dead in Waray magic, it is simply resurrecting the spirit of the being. While these beings can be used for combat; the pain that the ghost should be feeling will be directed to the one that summoned them.
WEAKNESSES.
An aswang's abilities are siognificantly dampened when it comes to the morning and afternoon. While the sun does not kill them, it reduces them from using their supernatural abilities - which makes them easier to kill if caught. They are sensitive to stingrays' tail - which is used as a whip to dispel their presence and is allergic to specific talismans and amulets that can ward them off. They are allergic to ginger and pure silver. To kill a witch aswang, a bolo knife can be used to strike the middle of the witch's back; if that area is not struck, the witch can lick its wounds to heal its injuries. After slaying an aswang with a bolo, the bolo must be planted under the ground.
the root of evil .
In the free age of pre-colonial Philippines before the travesties that the Spanish unleashed upon the native people; the Visayans were free to believe in the generational activities of their native home. From the appreciation of their written word to the common experience of religious practices, Visayas was a free land of magic - open to both the light and darkness of the supernatural world.
Before, there were the Gods Gugurang and Asuang; both with their own respective followers. Gugurang, the good God that acted as the beneficent of their region and guardian of good magic users and healers or ( ALBULARYOS ), was everything that good magic was; healing, true love, and good luck. Asuang, on the other hand, was the godly rival of Gugurang; the cursed God who was made of all the rot and slime of the dank forests of Visayas. Asuang found terrible pleasure when it came to giving Gugurang harm and distraught - just like the followers he guarded, aka the black magic sorcerers and witches that thrived in cursing and causing pain to others. . . the ( MANGKUKULAMS ).One particularly quiet evening in the skies, Gugurang, who also wielded the fire of Mt. Mayon that would be lit if the Gods were displeased, was sleeping soundly on the quiet clouds of the evening sky. Asuang, mischievous as he was, became aware of the fact that he had no proper control over the humans and became jealous of the fire that Gugurang wielded. He was able to realize that IF he was able to steal and obtain the fire that Gugurang had, he would be able to win and gain the favor of the people. And so, Asuang was able to steal the fire Gugurang had in his palm while he was sleeping by turning invisible and hiding the fire in a coconut shell.Unfortunately for Asuang, he was not aware nor prepared to control the flames of Gugurang’s fire - which led to catching the entire world on fire. Gugurang woke just in time to lead him back to Asuang and take the fire back, asking the other Gods to set water to the Earth to extinguish the flames of the Earth. Finally, Gugurang had enough of Asuang’s torments and mischief - and asked the Gods to curse Asuang to the land of the people; forever craving a taste of the beings he wanted as mere followers. There, Asuang became the first ( ASWANG ) of the Philippines; a monstrous being that could change its form and shape in order to hunt and seduce beings of human flesh. Asuang was dropped in a small tribe in Western Samar where most of the followers and human lover resided, Damiana Bacunawa. And thus, the truest and darkest magical family of the Philippines was born.
ever-growing evil .
The Bacunawa Family Tree is an ancient family of darkness and magic - the former patron head being the disgraced evil God of magic himself, Asuang. After Asuang was left on the edge of a village in Western Samar where most of his loyal followers and even human lover Damiana Bacunawa resides, Asuang took his chances and stayed in the village. But, because of his curse that caused him to crave human flesh while becoming the first aswang, few remained and stayed in the village; including 3 other families, and his beautiful and loyal bride, Damiana Bacunawa.
Damiana, a spiritual woman, wasn’t particularly a woman of dark magic. She was the prized and beautiful daughter of a powerful Albularyo from Baybaylan that fell in-love with the Asuang while he was taking a break from godly duties and took his human form. Because of the essence of his dark magic piercing and soaking her in malevolent magic, Damiana was cut-off from her home in Eastern Samar - which made her move to a place that was more welcoming to the followers of Asuang while he was a God. There, she practiced the entirely new branch of magic she was born to oppose; the art of dark curses - which she took a fond understanding of to appease her lover. But, after the tragic and unforeseen fall of Asuang from his godly throne, the standard momentum that they had was thrown off.Untold by the Gods that inflicted the curse upon Asuang was that a simple touch or contact of the first aswang could turn humans or other beings into one; and because Damiana was Asuang’s lover, she herself turned into a blood-thirsty fiend. The village they resided in slowly and surely became deserted - leaving Asuang and Damiana and two other families who were loyal followers of Asuang to inhabit the town. But, of course, that did not stop the small circle from spreading less trouble.Regardless of Asuang’s fall from the heavens, he was still the best practitioner of dark magic in the Philippines - while having his hidden riches from his temples and tombs across the Visayan Island. He taught and exploited their close-knitted town; turning the silent village into a place of dark magic and necromancy. He taught the roots of curses - causing illnesses and death to those they deemed enemies, and emitted fire to neighboring villages in acts of violence; using dead souls for their bidding. They were deceiving and cruel, and while the downside of being an aswang came with craving human flesh, they were able to receive new assorted powers; sprouting dark wings to fly, having the ability to change their form when necessary to hide, and smell the scent of human blood from miles away.Sooner or later, as their little village thrived, Damiana and Asuang had their first and only daughter; Macabuni. A beautiful bundle of joy that had the same beauty of her mother but the dark, soulless eyes of her father; she became the pride and joy of the village - becoming a magical prodigy herself, while being an excellent huntress as an aswang.Regardless of Asuang’s bitter understanding of his new profound mortality; his village of dark magic became his own last laugh to Gugurang and to the Gods above - damning them with the existence of his family and loved ones to realize the mistake they’ve done to turn him into such a monstrous thing. And when he and Damiana finally died, the Bacunawa family thrived - the traditions and texts that Asuang wrote stored safely within their clutches.Using their riches and gold - they became one of the most powerful families of the Philippines; magically, and economically. Macabuni was able to give birth to two daughters after seducing and making a Spanish general fall inlove with her; giving them political stability for the first 50 years of the Spanish occupation. Macabuni’s daughters repeated the same action of their mother and seduced more high-powered authorities of the Spanish government to give them stability in the former Western Samar turnt Samar.
Unfortunately, only one of Macabuni’s children was able to reproduce; another daughter, having the same beauty of a Bacunawa. . . and cold eyes of Asuang himself. And so, the Bacunawa family lived from generations to come - the small village with no name becoming Calbayog, officially the City of Calbayog - a 1st class component city in Samar. Each generation had only one daughter after Macabuni’s first two daughters; and the most recent heir to the Bacunawa title was the current dark magic prodigy Hiraya, herself.
